I'd especially like to see the Maritime Museum. When you come to Halifax in 2017, you'll have to visit our Maritime Museum. I think it's included in the conference, and if not, we can make a special trip to the waterfront.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14445143156827375431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2716833846895246215.post-4605668092506702102015-11-03T02:26:52.610-08:002015-11-03T02:26:52.610-08:00You've described exactly why I'm too scare...You've described exactly why I'm too scared to drive on motorways any more!

Glad you had such a great time in Liverpool. Wonderful pictures and you picked up all kinds of information and details I didn't - I just sort of stood there and breathed in the beauty. It's such a wonderful library, and I do look forward to going back to Liverpool again.

Abbeybufo, that is the most excellent explanation of the phenomenon. Yes, I felt I wasn't going quite fast enough for them, but what you say about them being able to see the gap and me not, makes perfect sense. (By the way, I love "Supposed to be retired" - I know just what you mean!)Diana Birchallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18291540900938654707noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2716833846895246215.post-43942068576039541732015-11-02T13:55:25.643-08:002015-11-02T13:55:25.643-08:00Speed limit on motorways is 70 mph not 60 - that w...Speed limit on motorways is 70 mph not 60 - that will be why lorries overtake you. But they always seem to come unpleasantly close before doing so! It's partly the shape of the cabs, and the fact they are so much higher up, so they can see the gap there really is between them and you, but you can't as they seem to fill the rear windscreen!Abbeybufohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09943340447141277258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2716833846895246215.post-78810916204325537752015-11-02T09:47:25.013-08:002015-11-02T09:47:25.013-08:00Diana, it isn't just you. Others seem to make a game of overtaking each other on a two lane dual carriageway just to hold up the rest of the traffic as they are unable to pass quickly. I don't know what it's all coming to. I'm sorry you found driving here difficult this time but you managed it and survived to tell the tale, so well done!
I love my trips to Liverpool. You probably read about my visit to the newly refurbished library :
https://miladysboudoir.wordpress.com/2013/10/12/day-tripper-to-liverpool-library/

Barbarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02196530511497772957noreply@blogger.com
